Our Story
Parrish Aviation Flight Academy was founded in 2020 by Jack Parrish — a fourth-generation aviator, ATP, NAFI Master CFI, and former airline First Officer. The school was built on a simple premise: flight training should be rigorous, mentorship-driven, and produce pilots who are genuinely ready for professional aviation.
Jack's aviation heritage runs deep. He began flying at age four with his grandfather in a Stearman and Aeronca Champion. Four generations of aviation experience — and the lessons of that lineage — are embedded in everything Parrish Aviation does.

Our Fleet
Parrish Aviation's primary training fleet is built around the Sling NGT — a modern composite light sport aircraft featuring a Garmin G3X Touch glass cockpit and Rotax 916 iS engine. The school ordered 10 new Sling NGTs in 2026, making it one of the largest Sling NGT operators in North Texas. Multi-engine training is conducted in a Piper Twin Comanche. Training exclusively on glass cockpit avionics prepares students for the flight decks they'll encounter professionally, rather than requiring a separate transition from analog gauges.
On-Site Services
- PSI FAA Knowledge Testing Center — students take all FAA Airman Knowledge Tests on campus, including Private Pilot (PAR), Instrument Rating (IRA), Commercial (CAX), CFI (FIA/FII/FOI), and Part 107 Drone (UAG)
- Aviation Medical Examiner (coming soon) — on-site AME so students can complete their FAA medical certificate without leaving campus

- In-House A&P Maintenance — aircraft maintained by on-staff mechanics, not outsourced, for faster turnaround and consistent airworthiness
Financing and Benefits
Flight training at Parrish Aviation is accessible through multiple financing options. GI Bill® education benefits are accepted for Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot, and CFI training (not applicable to Private Pilot under current VA rules). Financing through Wurthy Financial is available for students who qualify. The school's partnership with Purdue Global also allows eligible students to earn up to 45 college credits toward an aviation degree for their flight training.
Why Students Choose Parrish Aviation
The clearest measure of a flight school's quality is its checkride pass rate. Parrish Aviation maintains a 90%+ first-attempt checkride pass rate across its programs. That number is the product of structured stage checks at every milestone, instructors who hold their students to checkride standards throughout training (not just the final week), and a culture that treats every flight as preparation for the real thing.
Students who train here leave ready for the next certificate — not just the next lesson.
Our Philosophy
We are committed to producing safe, skilled, and disciplined aviators through mentorship, structured training, and a community-driven culture. We believe that flight training done right is one of the most transformative experiences a person can undertake — and we take that responsibility seriously.
"If we're going to do something, we might as well give it our best." — Jack Parrish
