Parrish Aviation Flight Academy in Dallas, Texas has officially become an Authorized PSI Testing Center. This is a major milestone in our mission to become the "Harvard of Flight Schools" by providing a seamless, all-in-one training environment.
On-Site FAA Knowledge Testing
Students and outside pilots can now take all FAA Airman Knowledge Tests (AKTs) directly at the Parrish Aviation campus at Dallas Executive Airport. Students can test where they train, eliminating travel to third-party locations.
As an official PSI center, we host the full library of FAA knowledge exams, including:
- Private Pilot (PAR, PRH)
- Instrument Rating (IRA, IRH)
- Commercial Pilot (CAX, CRH)
- Certified Flight Instructor (FIA, FII, FOI)
- Unmanned Aircraft General (UAG/Part 107 Drone)
- Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMA, AMG, AMP)
FAA knowledge exams require a minimum passing score of 70%.
Why On-Site Testing Matters
The FAA requires a passing knowledge test score (70% or higher) before any practical test. At most Dallas-area flight schools, that means scheduling a separate appointment at a third-party testing center — often days in advance, across town, at a facility the student has never visited. It's a logistical interruption that breaks momentum.
At Parrish Aviation, that obstacle is gone. Students can finish ground school, take their FAA knowledge exam on the same campus the same week, and move directly into flight training for their checkride. No separate drive, no unfamiliar test center, no extra scheduling friction.
The testing center is also open to non-Parrish Aviation students and pilots. Any pilot in the Dallas area who needs to take an FAA Airman Knowledge Test — for any certificate or rating — can schedule at our campus at 5125 Voyager Drive, Dallas Executive Airport (KRBD).
Part of the 2026 Expansion
The PSI Testing Center is part of a broader 2026 growth initiative at Parrish Aviation:
Expanded Sling NGT Fleet
Parrish Aviation ordered 10 new Sling NGT aircraft in early 2026. The Garmin G3X glass cockpit fleet expansion reduces scheduling wait times and allows students to fly more frequently — which is the single biggest factor in how quickly a student progresses from certificate to certificate.
On-Site Aviation Medical Examiner (Coming Soon)
Getting an FAA medical certificate is a required step before solo flight. Parrish Aviation is adding an on-site Aviation Medical Examiner (AME), so students can complete their FAA medical exam at the same campus where they train — another scheduling step removed from the process.
Airline and University Pipelines
Parrish Aviation has strengthened its partnership with Purdue Global's School of Aviation, through which eligible students can earn up to 45 college credits toward an aviation degree for their flight training at Parrish. The school is also building direct pipelines to regional airline hiring for graduates of the Career Pilot Program.
