Parrish Aviation orders 10 New Sling NGT Aircraft in 2026!

By Parrish AviationMarch 4, 2026

Parrish Aviation Flight Academy has placed an order for 10 new Sling NGT aircraft — a significant fleet expansion that will roughly double the school's training capacity at Dallas Executive Airport (KRBD). The order reflects the school's commitment to keeping students in the air and on schedule, rather than waiting for an aircraft to open up.

Why Sling NGT?

The Sling NGT is a modern light sport aircraft built by Sling Aircraft in South Africa, featuring a composite airframe, Rotax 916 iS engine, and Garmin G3X Touch glass cockpit. For flight training, those specs matter:

  • Garmin G3X Touch — the same glass cockpit avionics suite found in many modern GA aircraft and turboprops. Students learning on the G3X build avionics proficiency that directly transfers to professional flying.
  • Composite airframe — lighter, more fuel-efficient, and easier to maintain than traditional aluminum trainers. Lower operating costs mean lower training costs.
  • Rotax 916 iS engine — fuel-injected, modern powerplant with FADEC management. Students learn engine monitoring skills more representative of professional aviation.
  • MOSAIC compliance — the FAA's updated MOSAIC rule expands the role of light sport aircraft in training, and the Sling NGT is positioned as one of the leading MOSAIC-compliant trainers.

What This Means for Students

One of the most common frustrations at growing flight schools is aircraft availability. When a school operates a small fleet, students find themselves waiting days between lessons — which is expensive in both money and skill retention. Expanding to 10+ Sling NGTs means:

  • More scheduling flexibility — students can fly more frequently and on their own timeline
  • Faster progression through the Private Pilot License, Instrument Rating, and Commercial Pilot Certificate
  • Less time lost to maintenance downtime — a larger fleet means redundancy
  • Consistent aircraft type throughout training — students build muscle memory and systems knowledge without switching planes mid-program

Jack Parrish on the Expansion

"We believe that Sling and similar MOSAIC-compliant aircraft are the future of flight training," said Jack Parrish, President and Founder. "The Sling NGT gives our students modern avionics, efficient operating costs, and a flying experience that actually prepares them for the aircraft they'll fly professionally. Adding ten of them is an investment in the quality and capacity of what we deliver."

Parrish Aviation was already among the first Dallas flight schools to build its primary training fleet around the Sling NGT. This order cements that commitment and positions the school as one of the largest Sling NGT operators in North Texas.

Part of a Broader 2026 Expansion

The fleet order is one component of a larger 2026 growth plan at Parrish Aviation that also includes the opening of an on-site PSI FAA Knowledge Testing Center, an on-site Aviation Medical Examiner, expanded enrollment capacity, and a strengthened Career Pilot Program pipeline connecting students to regional airline hiring.
